🩸 BloodBridge — Connecting Lives, One Drop at a Time

💡 Inspiration

Blood emergencies require quick access to reliable blood availability information, yet finding nearby blood banks and coordinating blood requests can be challenging. This inspired us to build BloodBridge, a platform designed to simplify the process of finding blood banks, requesting blood availability, and tracking requests through one accessible digital solution.

🛠️ How We Built It

We developed BloodBridge as a web-based prototype with an easy-to-use dashboard. The platform includes features for searching blood banks, submitting blood availability requests, tracking request status, and providing a dashboard for blood banks. We used AI-assisted development tools to help build the interface and implement the core features, then tested the application and published it online so users and judges could explore the demo.

📚 What We Learned

Building BloodBridge helped us understand how technology can address real-world healthcare coordination challenges. We gained practical experience in web application development, user-interface design, AI-assisted coding, testing, debugging, and deploying a project online. We also learned the importance of making applications simple, accessible, and focused on users' needs.

🚧 Challenges We Faced

As a beginner in development, turning an idea into a working prototype within a limited timeframe was a major challenge. We had to understand the development process, refine features through repeated prompts, troubleshoot issues, and test the application to improve its usability. Working under a tight deadline taught us to prioritize essential features and focus on delivering a demonstrable solution.

🌍 Our Vision

Our vision is to make blood availability information easier to access and blood-request coordination more efficient. BloodBridge is an initial step toward connecting people and blood banks through technology, with the broader goal of supporting faster coordination during critical situations.
