Inspiration
Blockchain data is public, but understanding it isn't. Investigating a wallet or transaction often requires analysts to write complex SQL across millions of blockchain records, manually correlate transactions, traces, token transfers, and logs, and then interpret the results. This process is time-consuming and requires deep technical expertise, making blockchain analytics inaccessible to many compliance teams, researchers, and developers.
We wanted to build an AI analyst that could perform these investigations automatically—allowing users to ask questions in natural language while the AI plans the investigation, retrieves the right data, and explains its findings in plain English.
What it does
BlockVantage AI is an AI-powered blockchain investigation platform for Ethereum on-chain analytics. Instead of acting as a chatbot or simply translating text into SQL, BlockVantage AI functions as an autonomous investigation assistant. Users can ask questions such as:
"Investigate this wallet." "Show unusual USDT transfers." "Find the largest ETH movements this week." "Explain what happened in this transaction." The AI agent then: Understands the investigation objective. Uses Emergence Craft MCP to safely access blockchain data. Generates and executes the required database queries. Interprets the returned results. Produces analyst-style summaries, insights, confidence scores, and visualizations. Suggests follow-up investigations that help users continue exploring suspicious or interesting activity. The platform supports interactive charts, SQL transparency, and natural-language blockchain exploration over millions of Ethereum records.
How we built it
BlockVantage AI combines AI reasoning with structured blockchain analytics. Our architecture consists of:
Nebius Token Factory LLMs for reasoning, planning, and report generation. Emergence Craft MCP as the secure data access layer, allowing the AI to discover schemas, generate SQL, execute queries, and retrieve results without direct database access. Spider 2.0 Ethereum Dataset containing transactions, token transfers, logs, traces, contracts, and blocks. Node.js backend that orchestrates the conversation, AI reasoning, MCP tool calls, and visualization pipeline. React/Next.js frontend providing an investigation dashboard with charts, generated SQL, query results, and AI-generated insights. Rather than exposing raw SQL to users, the platform lets the AI reason over blockchain data and transform it into actionable intelligence.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was designing an agent that goes beyond simple text-to-SQL.
We needed the AI to: understand ambiguous blockchain questions, generate meaningful database queries, Integrating Nebius LLMs with the Emergence Craft MCP workflow while keeping the system responsive also required careful orchestration of tool calls and reasoning.

What we learned
Building BlockVantage AI reinforced that large language models are most valuable when paired with reliable external tools rather than relying solely on model knowledge. We learned how powerful the combination of:
structured databases, MCP tool calling, and LLM reasoning can be for solving real-world analytical problems. We also gained valuable experience orchestrating AI workflows where the model plans investigations, retrieves evidence, and produces explainable conclusions instead of simply answering questions.
What's next for BlockVantage
Our vision is to evolve BlockVantage AI into a comprehensive AI-powered blockchain intelligence platform. Future plans include:
Support for multiple blockchains including Bitcoin, Solana, Base, Polygon, and Arbitrum. Wallet behavior profiling and risk scoring. Transaction graph visualization and money flow analysis. Continuous monitoring with AI-generated alerts for unusual activity.
