What it does## Inspiration
Web3 gives users more control over their digital assets, but interacting with unknown wallet addresses and transactions can expose users to scams and financial risks. We wanted to create a simple tool that helps users understand potential risks before interacting with a suspicious Web3 address.
What We Built
BlockShield is a Web3 security prototype that analyzes a wallet address or transaction-related information and presents a simple risk assessment. The goal is to make blockchain security information easier to understand for users who may not have advanced Web3 knowledge.
The interface is designed to show important security indicators and convert technical blockchain information into a simple risk level and explanation.
How We Built It
We designed a web-based interface for entering a wallet address and viewing its security analysis. The project uses Web3/blockchain data and a risk-analysis layer to identify suspicious patterns and present the results through a simple dashboard.
The prototype focuses on usability, clear risk indicators, and making blockchain security information accessible to beginners.
What We Learned
Through this project, we learned how Web3 applications can interact with blockchain data, how wallet addresses and transactions can be analyzed, and how security information can be presented in a user-friendly way.
We also learned how to design a practical MVP within a limited hackathon timeframe.
Challenges
One of the main challenges was converting complex blockchain information into simple results that an ordinary user can understand. Another challenge was designing the project so that it could provide useful security information without making unsupported claims about whether an address is definitely malicious.
Future Improvements
In the future, BlockShield could support more blockchain networks, real-time transaction monitoring, scam-address databases, wallet connection, automated alerts, and more advanced risk analysis.
