Inspiration
We started BlockBot after seeing how difficult crypto still is for normal users. Setting up a wallet, understanding gas, switching networks, and figuring out how to send a transaction can be overwhelming.
We wanted to change that by bringing crypto into an interface people already understand, WhatsApp. The idea was simple: instead of teaching users how to use a wallet, let them interact with their wallet through a conversation.
What it does
BlockBot is a chat-based crypto wallet that lets users interact with blockchain assets directly through WhatsApp.
Users can create and manage a wallet, check balances, send and receive assets, and initiate blockchain transactions through simple chat commands.
We have been building the infrastructure to support embedded wallets, gas sponsorship, transaction processing, and analytics, with the goal of making crypto feel more like a normal payment experience.
How we built it
We built BlockBot using a combination of backend services, wallet infrastructure, blockchain integrations, and WhatsApp-based conversational flows.
We previously integrated and tested the system on Avalanche and Arbitrum chain, which allowed us to experiment with wallet creation, transaction execution, payment flows, and different approaches to reducing gas and onboarding friction.
For the current version, we are extending this architecture toward the Arc ecosystem, integrating Circle infrastructure and building BlockBot around it.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was making blockchain transactions reliable while keeping the experience simple for the user.
We had to deal with wallet creation, transaction signing, gas requirements, network differences, failed transactions, and backend transaction monitoring while trying to hide most of that complexity from the user.
We also learned that building a chat-based wallet is not just about connecting a blockchain to WhatsApp. The backend needs to handle state, security, transaction confirmation, and user intent correctly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to take the idea beyond a prototype and actually build and test the core infrastructure across multiple testnets.
Our integrations with Avalanche Network and Arbitrum helped us validate the wallet and payment architecture, and we were able to build real transaction flows through the chat interface.
We are now taking what we learned from those deployments and applying it to BlockBot V2 and the Arc ecosystem.
What we learned
We learned that the biggest barrier to crypto adoption is often not the blockchain itself, but the experience built around it.
We also learned a lot about wallet infrastructure, transaction execution, gas sponsorship, backend reliability, and designing conversational flows for blockchain actions.
Most importantly, we learned that simplifying the user experience requires a lot more infrastructure behind the scenes.
What's next for BlockBot
Our next step is to launch BlockBot V2 on Arc testnet and open it up for beta users.
We will focus on wallet creation, sending and receiving transactions, balance checks, gas sponsorship, analytics, and Circle ecosystem integrations.
After the testnet release, we plan to open-source our developer documentation and widget SDK so other developers can build their own conversational financial experiences on top of BlockBot.
Long term, we want BlockBot to become a simple gateway for everyday users to interact with crypto without needing to understand all the complexity underneath.
