Inspiration

We were inspired by the power of music to bring people together and the potential of Web3 to create new ways of learning, playing, and owning. BlockBeats 3.0 was born from the idea of using beats, rhythm, and cultural heritage as a gateway for the next generation to explore blockchain technology in a fun and inclusive way.

With over 40 accounts created, we’ve validated that sound, rhythm, and culture can become a gateway to Web3 education and adoption.

What it does

BlockBeats 3.0 is an interactive Web3 music lab on Starknet. Users can draw beats, play with generative instruments, mint unique NFT music experiences, and even trigger drone-show NFTs. It transforms music into a gamified entry point into blockchain adoption—accessible for schools, creators, and communities.

How we built it

We built BlockBeats 3.0 with Starknet scalability at its core. Using Cairo smart contracts, Next.js for the frontend, and wallet integrations, we combined real-time beat-drawing with NFT minting flows. The design is modular and open-source, making it easy for educators, students, and builders to expand.

Challenges we ran into

Learning Cairo and adapting Starknet tooling to interactive music flows

Designing an intuitive UI that feels playful but still Web3-native

Handling NFT metadata for real-time generative beats to listen to our NFTs on BlockBeats3.0 Machines

Building a modular, open-source foundation for future music + NFT experiments

What we learned

We deepened our knowledge of Cairo, Starknet, and wallet integration while also learning how to translate cultural identity into digital-first experiences. Most importantly, we learned how music can simplify complex blockchain concepts for new users.

What's next for BlockBeats 3.0

We want to expand BlockBeats 3.0 into an educational platform for schools and communities, with badges, quests, and accessible tutorials. Plans include deploying on Starknet mainnet, creating more generative instruments, and launching cultural NFT collections that celebrate global music traditions.
