Inspiration
With the amount of dating based programs that other people are making around us, we decided to create a game that is for single players.
What it does
A variation of Atari Breakout with a valentines day theme.
How we built it
We used the PyGame library in Python to display images and shapes onto a screen. Most of the objects are made with an Object-Oriented design.
Challenges we ran into
Sit down for this one. You're gonna need it. SO, we first started out with the plan to make a card game with HTML, CSS, and React.js. After about 4 hours of trial and error, we attended a workshop and collectively decided to switch our focus onto something more applicable: an academic scheduler. From there, we tried creating the front and back end with python libraries as well as connecting to a database, but we couldn't make much progress. From there, some of us grew tired, so we switched to what we know: Python.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One of our members did not sleep. We managed to go through three projects within 24 hours to create the game.
What we learned
How to somewhat develop the foundation of a single player game.
What's next for Block Breaker
