Inspiration

I wanted to build this app to help and provide people with ease access to information and locations of the places they visit

What it does

Blink is an application that is created to be used for navigation in crowded places to reduce the crowd and give people easy access to information of that particular place. It can be used in places like :

  1. Hospitals
  2. Banks
  3. Shops
  4. Airports etc

How we built it

Blink uses a trained bot to answer people’s questions or provide them with information. ie if a person in a hospital is looking for a patients wards or toilets etc, the bot helps them by giving direction to the place. The bot is trained to take in requests for many people, and a person can also ask multiple questions. Blink uses machine learning/AI to take people’s requests and provide them with solutions

Challenges we ran into

Learning a new platform and how it works, How to use Chatbot and machine learning. having a computer that does not have a mic making it difficult to record a video without a sound. I have also included a presentation in the video.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that I have created an app that has a potential to improve people's lives and provide them with information that is relevant and helpful. This app is relevant because it provides people with information to reduce and keep the crowd flowing. Imagine going to a huge complex mall, instead of going up and down looking for a certain shop, the app can tell you where to find it with directions. Or you are in a market shop and you are looking for fruits, the app can direct you to the section that contains fruits.

What's next for Blink

Blink can be upgraded to use : Maps for directions with voice commands : When a user requests to go to a specific place he/she can get directions with voice commands. Chat bot AI for taking requests : will provide interaction between the user and the chat bot. Real time location detection : to get users current location and use it on maps to provide accurate directions Languages: it can support different languages and work through out the world
