## Inspiration Inspired by a personal challenge i faced while collaborating with a client abroad who spoke a different language and it was difficult to execute the project and understand the project's goals due to misunderstanding and too much time taken to respond to simple queries. I also happened to have different firends i meet in my work, on social media and through other friends across the globe but we rarely speak because of the language barriers

## What it does It fascilitates communication between individuals of different language backgrounds by auto-translating sent messages to the users preferred language. say i speak english and you speak spanish, when i send a message in english, the system translates it to spanish, then sends you the translated message in spanish and vise versa. this fascilitates communication for business professionals, individuals working on international projects with multiple diversed team mates, for service providers, tourists, and language translators.

## How we built it It was built on the Nocode platform Bubble.io which provides an intuitive visual programming system for building mobile and web apps through a design, workflows and database all in one management system. With a backend integration of Open AI's ChatGPT 4o to run the auto translation and images conversation.

## Challenges we ran into Mostly had issues with accessing openai's platform that kept restricting access, had fewer people to test the platform but with an overall overwelming happy feedbacks. due to joining the hackathon late on time, we mostly focused on building a web version of BlingBolt, hence the platform is still to be device responsive. creating a smooth chat interface. and since we architectured it to be an invite only platform and not pulling contacts from one's contactlist, new users may find their interface empty and to start a conversation, they'd have to invite a partiipant to start communicating with them.

One key factor was the accuracy of the translation, as the AI used a general knowladge base for their translation which is not in most cases relevant to present infos, understanding specific phrases, slangs and one language only words was kinda difficult and hence a need for training the ai models with more datasets for particular languages.

## Accomplishments that we're proud of Being able to experience the auto translation and a seamless rapid translation and recieving the message translated instantly while being able to see the original message was such an emotional moment for me.

*Like in the past, I'll have to * first write the message i wanted to send in my language, then i'll copy the message, go to googl translate, paste it there, wait for it to be translated depending on how big the message was, copy the translated message and then send it to the person i was talking to.

This was such a long process and that took way luch time and at times, i'll get cought off by distractions or forget what we were talking about.

BUT NOW with just a click of the send button on BlingBolt's messaging app, the message is auto translated and sent to the person i was talking to in no time while MAINTAINING THE SENSE OF THE ORIGINAL MESSAGE SENT.

Thats supper awesome to me! Sure you feel the vibe!!!

## What we learned Well, learnt alot much about perfecting the backend prompts to be able to accurately translate the messages while maintaining the meaning of the sentence. learnt about dealing with images communications with GPT 4 Vision. Learnt more on using different LLM models and their performance for which one is best at dealing with translation systems.

## What's next for BlingBolt

  • Mostly, making it device responsive; it will be dom dom not to support mobile and tablet devices.
  • Adding collaborative project management features to the platform's roadmap, (As a messaging platform, mainly fascilitating collaboration between business individuals and creators)
  • Collaborating with other team mates to bring in creative minds into the project,
  • Retaining needed resources to get the platform up and running
  • Training AI models with more translation specific datasets, and local languages datasets
  • Communicating about the platform on social media channels.
  • Obviously getting a V1 ready to launch! ready to be tested by real world users, getting their feedbacks and making viable iterations. let's not get cought up in the nemesis of perfection in this startup world.

Build it, ship it asap, then iterate and scale with all the fancy stuffs later.
