Inspiration
Within our friend group, we usually like to borrow items from each other for convenience so that we did not have to find and buy them ourselves. Living in HK, our apartments usually do not have enough space to store everything we want and need, and finding and buying certain things that are rare in HK can be a hassle at times. We then thought of an idea based on this that could make a lot of lives easier, to design a borrowing app that allows people from around the world to send items and back to each other without having to pay the original prices. The name blend comes from Borrow + Lend.
What it does
Users from around HK will be able to find other people willing to give up items they need on the app and be able to borrow them by delivery. After they finish using that item they would send it back, but if they keep it, they can be reported by the owner of the item.
How we built it
We planned out how the app was going to work and assigned roles to every team member to different parts of the website, like backend and frontend coding. We used Flask and Bootstrap to develop the website.
Challenges we ran into
Coordinating the whole project so that everyone could meet deadlines and that the project could be stuck together properly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Having a functioning website that does everything we need it to do.
What we learned
We never collaborated in a group project and are more used to individually coding projects, which resulted in the challenge of coordinating with each other. Throughout the making of this project, we learned how to split up the work in a coding project like this.
