Inspiration

Students usually receive a syllabus at the start of the semester, but it often gets ignored after the first week. We wanted to turn that syllabus into something useful and engaging. By using AI to transform syllabus topics into quizzes, challenges, and voice-guided lessons, studying becomes interactive instead of passive.

What it does

SyllyStudy turns real university courses into gamified study missions. Students select a course, AI extracts topics from the syllabus, and each topic becomes a playable level with quizzes, duels, puzzles, and boss battles. Voice narration guides the experience while Solana rewards progress with tokens and badges.

How we built it

We used Next.js for the frontend and a Node.js backend. Nebula API provides course and campus data, Gemini parses syllabi and generates questions, ElevenLabs adds voice narration, and Solana devnet handles tokens and achievement badges.

Challenges we ran into

Parsing inconsistent syllabus formats was difficult since every professor structures them differently. We also had to verify that the AI correctly interpreted syllabus topics before turning them into quizzes and challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully integrated all sponsor technologies into one system and built a playable MVP that converts real courses into structured learning levels.

What we learned

We learned how to combine AI content generation, voice APIs, and token-based rewards into one system while designing around real student workflows.

What's next for SyllyStudy

We plan to expand to other universities, add new game modes, and continue improving AI personalization to make learning more interactive and tailored to each student.
