Inspiration
Mostly inspired by the game theme combined with the idea of adding educational concepts to target a niche audience of engineers.
What it does
Provides a fun experience and challenges your math skills as if you're able to beat the game your math skills must be excellent.
How we built it
Using Roblox studio, which is a game engine written in the language Lua, and used ChatGPT for some debugging.
Challenges we ran into
Lots of bugs regarding wave mechanics and trying to make that consistent for player experiences Making Local player changes vs global server changes Letting go of some features/ideas because of time constraints UI Bugs regarding updates of some status values
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to create an environment that isn't an eyesore as well as programming the enemy's pathfinding for combat.
What we learned
Scaling down some ideas is better in the long run as you don't have a lot of time within a hackathon.
What's next for Blades & Computations
Adding a difficulty feature, extra weapons, and more detailed animations.
