Inspiration
We were inspired to make managing environmental projects more accessible by making a clean and easy to use website to manage files, in order to make feedback gathering simpler we also implemented some basic and easy to use analysis tools to compare project stats.
What it does
Allows users to store files in a folder structure under a project, files are each versioned with a history to make error recovery easier, projects can also be compared to each other under the analysis tab
How we built it
We split into front and back end teams, utilising our past knowledge effectively. We decided to use go for the back end creating a robust restful API and a simple front end in php for maximum delivery speed.
Challenges we ran into
Considering how to design the project for a client we were unable to meet (the volunteers)
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The API is robust and effective The front end is well designed
What we learned
Although php is effective for rapid delivery, it lacks some modern features which caused issues
