Inspiration
Our inspiration came from the music artist Mira Nait. He had released a previous track and track album cover that showed a veiled woman and it immediately resonated with us. The song on surface level is about the end of the world and finding someone you love to endure it with until the end. Underneath the layers however, it felt akin to the experience of living in a haze—limited and dulled. The veil became the metaphor and shaped early iterations. Visually, the movie Conclave was a huge source of inspiration.
How we built it
We're a lean team of three and always start our projects in Figma or Mural to collect inspo, storyboard and create initial shot list. We then move into image creation, make selects and dive into animating. While animating is being done, the edit begins and it's a constant back and forth between adjusting shots or tweaking animation to fit the flow of the edit.
Challenges we ran into
Continuous shots are difficult to get with AI—sometimes things didn't flow exactly as we wanted them to, but we were still able to experiment and push the tech in new ways.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The artist was really happy with the final result and we're proud to have completed our first AI music video! This was a project based in surrealism which is the perfect use case for AI and we're proud of how we were able to transport viewers into another world.
