Inspiration
RowdyHack and Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window inspired us to make this game. We thought that it was an awesome and executable concept.
What it does
It is a two-player pixel game that make use of perspectives and blind spots. We wanted to host it on a website and allow multiplayer on separate devices but we did not have enough time.
How we built it
Unity, C# and Piskel Art
Challenges we ran into
The animation process of character sprites were the most challenging part for us. We did not expect it to be that technical and hard. Plus we do not have much game development skills, two of us had only started learning Unity 4 days ago.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a tile movement system and linked sprites animation to different movement. We also designed our own map. But most importantly, we designed all of our blocks sprites which turnt out really great.
What we learned
Game development is challenging and tedious but can be very fun. It also involves a lot of problem-solving skills
What's next for Blackout Apartment
We will try to make that multiplayer server system and hopefully a leaderboard.
