Inspiration
I became interested in the project through the Black Remote She track. I think it's important to provide a system that is accessible for historically excluded, underrepresented, and underemployed job candidates.
What it does
This provides the front-end for a job-sharing system aimed towards Black queer and trans women, nonbinary people, and allies interested in working remotely. There are pages for the job board, employer landing page, job seeker landing page, and employer dashboard.
How we built it
This project was built using HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges were getting the design layout correct. I also had a bit of a hard time working with different HTML Form features such as checkboxes and input texts. I was able to learn all of it by searching them up.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of the overall design of the pages. I also like how I created the account sign-up forms for employers and job seekers.
What we learned
I learned how to use the CSS Flexible Box Layout. I am also more comfortable working with appropriate colors and font sizes to make a page more user-friendly.
What's next for Black Remote She Job Board
The page for the job seeker dashboard needs to be developed. The back-end also needs to be implemented.
