Inspiration

Black women founders face a dual barrier of gender and racial bias, which makes it much harder to access the right mentorship, funding, and networks at the moments that matter most. In Europe especially, the ecosystem is still fragmented: there are strong communities for Black tech professionals and women founders, but very few solutions built specifically for Black women building and scaling businesses. This matters because mentorship and sponsorship are consistently linked to better funding outcomes, and women-led startups in Europe still receive a very small share of venture capital

What it does

Black Founders Hub is an online platform that connects Black women founders with verified mentors, startup support, and relevant financial resources in one place. It is designed to be practical and founder-first: users can find mentorship, discover opportunities, and access guidance that helps them move from idea to growth with more confidence and less isolation.

How we built it

We built Black Founders Hub fully in Lovable, and integrated Novus to strengthen the experience and the product workflow. Building fast in Lovable helped us turn the concept into a working product quickly, so we could focus on solving a real problem instead of spending time on heavy infrastructure.

Challenges we ran into

The hardest part was not building the interface — it was sharpening the problem. We had to research the real barriers Black women founders face, compare existing support ecosystems, and identify what was missing so the solution would be specific, credible, and useful. Finding trustworthy data and examples across Europe took time, but it helped us define a clearer and more differentiated product direction.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we turned a difficult, underserved problem into a concrete product concept and shipped it end-to-end with Lovable. We’re also proud that the platform is not generic: it is intentionally built for Black women founders, combining mentorship, startup support, and access to resources in a way that reflects the realities of intersectional entrepreneurship.

What we learned

We learned that strong products come from strong problem framing. The more we researched, the more it became clear that Black women founders need not just inspiration, but ongoing access to mentors, sponsorship, and practical support that bridges the gap between community and capital. We also learned that speed matters, because Lovable made it possible to validate the concept quickly and keep momentum high.

What's next for Black Founders Hub

Next, we want to expand the mentor network, improve matching, and add more local and Europe-wide funding resources so the platform becomes even more actionable. We also want to pilot the product with real users, gather feedback, and grow it into a sustainable ecosystem that can support Black women founders beyond the hackathon.
