INSPIRATION

Our journey with Blackbox AI Firewall began with a simple yet profound realization: cyberspace is a wild frontier, teeming with hackers and malware threatening businesses and individuals daily. Inspired by the growing need for robust security in the AI era and the innovative potential of quantum technology, we set out to create a solution that blends cutting-edge science with practical protection. The success of blockchain security projects, like the one we studied, motivated us to adapt quantum encryption for real-time threat detection, aiming to build something that stands out in the hackathon arena.

What We Learned... Building this project was a crash course in quantum computing and encryption. We discovered the power of quantum key generation and how AWS could amplify it, learning to integrate these with React and TypeScript for a seamless UI. We also mastered handling encrypted databases and tackled the nuances of real-time processing, gaining insights into balancing security with usability—a skill we’ll carry forward.

How We Built Our Project...

We crafted Blackbox AI Firewall using React and TypeScript for a sleek, responsive interface, powered by AWS quantum services for encryption and key generation. The backend leverages quantum algorithms to encrypt user data and passwords, with a database storing this securely. One line of code integrates our quantum check, enhanced by a customizable settings panel and a monitor for live threat tracking. A fun dad joke feature was added to spice it up for the "silly shit" challenge, reflecting our creative spirit.

Challenges We Faced... The road wasn’t smooth. Integrating AWS quantum services was a steep learning curve, with initial setup errors delaying progress. Ensuring real-time encryption without lag tested our optimization skills, and syncing the UI with backend encryption posed synchronization issues. The short timeline for the hackathon added pressure, but teamwork and late-night problem-solving turned these challenges into triumphs, making the project stronger.
