About Us
Many students are confused about school life and the future. We think that lack of information about how our world is changing or in different areas could be the biggest problem leading to confusion and no direction for the future, such as major and interest.
Students need direction and group together (going along = more pain), and our project is creating a website to bring different student organizations together to discuss the future, find internships, and connect with like-minded individuals for collaborative projects.
Having ideas but without a sharing platform, you could come here and share your ideas, and here could share like-minded teammates with you!
Concepts:
- Social Platform: Create a social networking platform where members of various student organizations can build profiles, join organizations of interest, and interact with each other.
- Forums and Discussion Boards: Set up dedicated forums or discussion boards for student organization members to discuss future directions, confusion questions, internship opportunities, and project collaborations. This fosters information sharing and collaboration.
- Job and Internship Listings: Provide a section where a wide range of internship and job opportunities, including those offered by student organizations, on-campus, and off-campus, are listed. This helps students find relevant opportunities.
- Project and Team Matching: Allow students to create and join projects and search for team members that fit their needs. This can be beneficial for pursuing projects and entrepreneurial opportunities. Cross-section working. Ex: If you as a student want to start a company and don’t know what to do or need some people help you to generate a website, then go to a different group to ask what you need, give an opportunity to another student to practice their skills and improve your leadership and teamwork skill.
- Calendar and Event Management: Offer a shared calendar for posting and viewing on-campus and off-campus events, lectures, and workshops. This helps students stay informed about upcoming activities and opportunities. Helps students know what interesting courses are in their college are open for everyone.
- Resource Repository: Establish a resource repository that includes tutorials, documents, academic papers, and other valuable materials to help students expand their knowledge and skills. “need to prevent infringement”
- Feedback Mechanism: Provide a feedback and rating system for users to improve the website's functionality and user experience.
- Privacy and Security: Ensure user privacy and data security are a top priority by implementing appropriate privacy policies and security measures.
- Promotion and Marketing: Promote the website both on and off-campus to attract more students and organizations to participate. Do some advertising like the food we should try around the school.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously listen to user feedback, make enhancements, and update the website to meet user needs.
How we built it
We used creat-react-app and next.js to create this project.
We would also use AI to collect data, such as the general questions people will have, and advise them where to get started based on the discussion from different groups or students. Collect useful data to analyze what people need and most care about in their area, to give ideas for newbies on where to start.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge we ran into was coding because we didn't have much coding experience in making a website.
