Inspiration

The inspiration for this project comes from the challenges international students face when transitioning to English-speaking environments. While often proficient in their native languages, they struggle to express complex thoughts, engage in nuanced discussions, and structure their arguments logically in English. This hinders their ability to form deeper connections and fully integrate socially and academically. The project aims to provide a dedicated tool to help them overcome these specific hurdles in advanced conversational English, acting as a persistent, non-judgmental practice partner.

What it does

The project is an AI-powered magic tool designed to help users improve their sophisticated English expression. Users can vocalize their thoughts, ideas, or arguments on any topic. The AI analyzes this spoken input and provides immediate feedback that goes beyond basic grammar correction. It focuses on the logical structure of the argument, the precision of vocabulary used, and the natural, idiomatic flow of the language. It suggests alternative phrasings, helps enhance sentence complexity appropriately, and assists users in organizing their thoughts into more coherent and compelling English narratives. This creates a continuous learning loop embedded in the user's natural thinking process.

How we built it

We built the solution using a modern full-stack architecture with ASP.NET Core on the backend and Next.js with Ant Design on the frontend. Hosted on Microsoft Azure. ZeroSSL ensures secure HTTPS communication, supporting real-time processing and a smooth user experience.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenges we faced were accurately identifying user needs, rapidly developing an efficient product, and quickly transforming it into a production-ready, marketable solution. Ensuring high quality while iterating under tight timelines required close collaboration and clear prioritization.
