Inspiration
The inspiration for BizDonor stemmed from the pressing need for a more efficient and user-friendly system to connect blood donors and recipients. Witnessing the challenges faced by both groups, such as lack of awareness about donation locations and the importance of blood donation, motivated us to create a platform that simplifies this process and encourages more people to donate blood.
What it does
BizDonor is a digital assistant that connects blood donors with recipients seamlessly. It offers features like a 24/7 Telegram bot that provides information on blood donation, geolocation of blood donation centers, SMS notifications after donation, and an AI assistant for medical inquiries. The platform supports multiple languages and provides educational content on the significance of blood donation, enhancing the overall experience for users.
How we built it
We developed BizDonor using a collaborative approach, bringing together a diverse team with expertise in software development, design, and healthcare. Utilizing Agile methodology, we iterated through design phases, gathering user feedback to refine the platform. Our tech stack includes modern programming languages and frameworks, ensuring a responsive and robust application.
Challenges we ran into
Throughout the development process, we faced several challenges, including ensuring user data privacy and creating a seamless user experience across different languages. Additionally, integrating the AI assistant posed technical hurdles, requiring extensive testing and refinement to provide accurate and relevant responses.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of achieving over 1,000 registered blood donors within the first month of launching the app, demonstrating the project's impact and reach. Additionally, receiving positive feedback from early users on the app’s usability and features has validated our efforts.
What we learned
We learned the importance of user feedback in the development process, which helped us make informed decisions and improve our platform. Additionally, we gained insights into the healthcare sector's specific needs, particularly regarding blood donation logistics and education.
What's next for BizDonor
Moving forward, we aim to enhance our platform by integrating more advanced AI features for personalized donor-recipient matching, expanding our educational content, and exploring partnerships with healthcare institutions to improve blood donation awareness and accessibility.
