Inspiration

It's hard for small businesses to make connections with wholesale suppliers, so our product seeks to help small business owner find the cheapest, fastest wholesale products by comparing suppliers on one convenient platform.

What it does

BizConnect is a website with an easy search interface for wholesale products. Simply search for a product type, add your price, location, and quantity constraints, and get an easy-to-read comparison of the best suppliers.

How we built it

We built a demo of the BizConnect website, plus a proof-of-concept MySQL database containing searchable product info. Our frontend uses HTML/CSS and JavaScript, and the backend uses Python, SQL, and Flask.

Challenges we ran into

It was challenging to decide team roles! We also had difficulty working with bootstrap for the frontend, and experimented with several different product database options, including supplier APIs, scraping current prices from supplier websites, and configuring an imaginary database when previous options didn't work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We think our website look awesome! We also learned a lot together!

What we learned

We improved our idea-pitching skills, plus our creative thinking skills when we had to change our ideas on the go!

What's next for BizConnect

We think our product can be easily scaled to support real suppliers, and this would be a great project to continue!
