💡 What Inspired Us

Every day, over 500 million small business owners worldwide — from a kirana store in Mumbai to a clothing shop in Lagos to a café in São Paulo — run their entire business from memory and paper notebooks. They have no idea if they're actually profitable. They can't predict which products will sell next month. They can't afford accountants or market research.

We built Biz Pulse to change that. We wanted to give a small shop owner in any country the same business intelligence that big retailers pay thousands of dollars for — completely free, powered by AI.

🔨 How We Built It

We built Biz Pulse entirely using MeDo, describing every feature in natural language through multi-turn conversations. The entire app — from authentication to AI market intelligence — was built by describing what we wanted and iterating rapidly.

The build happened in 5 focused days:

• Day 1 — Authentication system (email OTP, phone OTP, Google login, forgot password), core transaction logger with natural language input, multi-currency P&L dashboard, and credit/debt tracker
• Day 2 — Receipt scanner using OCR, one-click PDF invoice generator, and inventory management with AI stock depletion predictions
• Day 3 — AI Business Co-Pilot, Biz Score health metric, goal tracker with daily nudges, and 30-day cash flow forecasting
• Day 4 — Market Pulse engine: trending product feed, seasonal demand forecasting, "What Should I Sell?" AI recommender, smart pricing suggester, and competitor price tracker
• Day 5 — Smart notifications, weekly email reports, shareable Biz Score card, UI polish, mobile responsiveness, and deployment

MeDo handled the full-stack generation — frontend components, backend logic, database schema, and API integrations — all from natural language descriptions. We used MeDo's visual editor to fine-tune layouts and its one-click deployment to ship the live app.

🧠 What We Learned

The biggest learning was how powerful MeDo's multi-turn conversation approach is for building complex apps. Rather than writing code, we described the problem in plain English and iterated. When something didn't look right, we just said "fix the layout" or "add a confirmation step before saving" — and MeDo handled it.

We also learned that the hardest part of building a global app isn't the features — it's the edge cases. Things like: what does Biz Score show when a new user has zero transactions? What happens if the Market Pulse API is down? We documented every edge case in our requirements and used MeDo to handle each one.

🚧 Challenges We Faced

• Authentication complexity — getting email OTP (not magic link), phone OTP, and Google OAuth all working correctly required precise Supabase configuration. MeDo helped us debug each issue step by step.
• Natural language parsing — training the AI to correctly understand "sold 10 bags for ₹900 and spent ₹200 on auto" required careful prompt engineering inside MeDo.
• Market intelligence — building a real-time trending product feed that works globally across different categories and regions was the most complex feature. We used MeDo's API integration capability to connect market data sources.
• Mobile responsiveness — making every single page look great on a small phone screen (since most of our target users are on mobile) required several rounds of UI iteration with MeDo.

🌍 Real-World Impact

Biz Pulse is built for the real world — not just tech-savvy entrepreneurs but the vegetable seller in Kenya, the tailoring shop in Bangladesh, the handmade goods seller in Mexico. The app works in 6 languages, 150+ currencies, and requires zero technical knowledge to use.
