BitWise

Inspiration

We were looking for a way to make this app fun and appealing as well informative, so after some thorough brainstorming we came up with BitWise, with the game BitLife as an inspiration to our game.

What it does

It is a web application that provides users with important information regarding Billing Statements, EDITDA, Horizontal Analysis, and Sustainability Metrics. A user can use this app to get a better understanding of these topics to help analyze their own company's well doing.

How we built it

We built this using a MERN stack and utilized FMP and Mistral APIs to pull important financial information and create questions to challenge and reinforce concepts for users.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges we ran into were first with coming up with an Idea we could all agree on. Once we had that we began the coding process. Then the difficulties of finding APIs that fit our requirements and then getting them to work. As well as quite a number of technical bugs that came up during our creation process.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The whole project, this is our first hackathon and utilizing a lot of topics that we had learned in class as well as utilizing elements we have seldom worked with. The project was the first we have done of this nature and being able to make a working and complete application that works is what all of us agree on being the biggest accomplishment.

What we learned

We learned many new technologies along the way such as mistral AI and FMP. It was infromative to learn how these technologies work as well as the ways to do the math for the calculations for EBITDA
