My Inspiration for creating Bitwell, a fun Experiment to replicate a real Wishing Well on Chain where you can decrypt wishes or make wishes public and last forever. With Ordinals and Inscriptions being so new my passion began growing learning new tech along the way and using recursive tech, HTML and JavaScript functions to execute this idea.
Bitwell, the concept of a traditional wishing well with cutting-edge technology. It serves as both a public and private wishing well, allowing users to make wishes and have them securely encrypted using the SHA-256 algorithm before being inscribed on the Bitcoin network. Think of a in real life wishing well where you can verify the wishes made with a timestamp and the Bitcoin Network.
How I built Bitwell, I inscribed HTML files and JavaScript functions into Bitcoin and made the inscription work by using recursive tools to point to the functions. I Kept innovating and made a PFP HTML Recursive Inscription where it allowed you to also make a wish in a PFP and make it Private if you wished. I created the wishing well as it went from just being TXT to creating Emojis as your Wish, allowing you to use my tool to decrypt the message.
Challenges we ran into was indexing Wishes together in the secondary, have to manually index at the beginning but thanks to Geniidata found a way to grab all the inscriptions and place them in a CVS file to keep track of all the Wishes made and Inscribed
Accomplishments that we're proud of is the ability to make your wishes be tradeable in a Marketplace where you can buy, sell, or trade your wishes on chain. Also I believe we are the first Wishing Well On-Chain inscribed in a actual Satoshi. Also the ability to Change a TXT inscription into Binary Art using 0,1 to represent black and white squares made the first wishes look like art but it remained being a TXT inscribed wish
What i learned is never to give up on a idea no matter how crazy people think it is, at the beginning nobody really understood why a wishing well on chain but the more it was out there the more people began to understand the power of wishing in Bitcoin, Inscription Feel magical.
What's next for Bitwell is updating the wishes as we go, we want to be able to create a amazing Permission less Wishing Well where it is possible to see every wish inscribed on chain that is public, From TXT to HTML, To recursive Ordinals, What is next it probably taking the Parent-Child Tech and providing a whole new way to make a wish on bitcoin
