Inspiration
Lack of Internet connectivity in rural areas and affordability of data plans are two major roadblocks for deploying crypto payments in developing countries. We propose a solution for creating a bitcoin based mobile payment that can be used by the unbanked population to pay small local businesses, and that can be reloaded by their relatives in the city or even USA.
What it does
The system consists of a crypto based virtual payment cards that small local business can issue using a mobile app and sell to local customers. The local customers save the cards in their mobile phone, and share them with the relatives locally or in USA. The relatives can reload funds to the payment card using bitcoins.
How we built it
Android mobile app authenticate to the server and exchange encrypted text messages to implement mobile payments, check balance and request sensitive information. It integrates to OPB to access the merchant wallets and accounts.
