Idea: Sexual Education App Target Audience: Pre-teens and Teenagers

Problem: Lack of sexual education in U.S. schools; Many teens resort to the internet and porn to learn about sex which creates a gap of knowledge/unrealistic expectations about sex; When sex is taught in schools, it is not being taught in an engaging and comprehensive way

Solution: Create an app that has an interactive, level-based learning module (think: Codecademy); Teach preteens and teenagers about sex in an inclusive, sex-positive way; Our app = one place for teenagers to lookup sex related questions/content

CONTENT

Modules: Anatomy (Body Image); Sex vs. Porn; STIs/STDs; Queer/LGBTQ; More Realistic Imagery; Sexual Harassment/Assault; Birth Control; How to talk to parents; Resources (free, birth control, planned parenthood etc.); Consent/Healthy Relationships/Hookups; Monogamy/Non-monogamy; Abortion; Pregnancy (intro), in-vitro fertilization; Masturbation

Format: MAIN FORMAT: LEVEL-BASED MODULES, rewarded, motivates user to work; Videos (cartoons, or older teens talking to younger teens); Terms (think: Urban Dictionary); Fun facts; Quizzes/Puzzles/Memes; Polls; Forum chat w/ other teens; Chat with doctors/sex experts/women’s health experts
