Bird Watch

Inspiration

The theme of the hackathon was our inspiration.

What it does

It allows users to participate in a virtual bird watching experience.

How we built it

We used some documentation that Professor Wang made available to her VR class to build our app. Our birds and trees were prefabs from the Unity Asset Store.

Challenges we ran into

We had some issues with making the birds large enough to be seen without being unrealistic.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our Bird-Finder3000.

What we learned

We learned the basics of VR.

What's next for Bird Watch

We would like to add a field book that automatically updates when you take a picture of a bird. This would allow automatic entries to appear on the appropriate page. The entries may include fun facts about the bird species.
