This system was inspired by increasing bird collisions around communication towers and the need for a simple, low-cost protection method. Its main motive is to reduce bird deaths by detecting their presence early and controlling tower lights automatically. Using Raspberry Pi cameras and a lightweight detection model, the system monitors the tower in real time and identifies birds entering the danger zone. When a bird is detected, the lights dim and warning signals activate to keep birds away. The system also stores detection logs, sends basic status updates, and stays accurate through regular model retraining—making it a reliable solution for long-term bird safety.
