BIOTA

Biota is the set of species of plants, animals, and other organisms that occupy a given area. They generate services (provision, regulation, support, and aesthetic/spiritual) from ecosystems that are vital for the well-being of humanity. BIOTA as a pilot project is the result of implementing Blockchain Technologies to provide trusted, traceable, immutable, and easy ways to exchange environmental services between landholders and investors in a global and open market.

What it does

There are well-known valuation methodologies through which we can quantify the value of a forest's ecosystem services, based upon the type(s) of service(s) provided. Through smart contracts and blockchains, BIOTA will offer a network of options to enter payment markets for the value of those services with landowners.

How we built it

The project is still in its research and development stage. We plan to build this project with cutting-edge technologies to ensure that it is future-proof.

Our Current Parntnerships

This concept has been developed in partnership between Digital Acceleration Partners (DAP) and FUNDECOR (Foundation for the Development of the Central Volcanic Mountain Range (FUNDECOR), combining knowledge in the application of disruptive technologies and experience in conservation management at the world class level.
