In today's overwhelming world, achieving personal wellness is complex. Generic health advice fails to meet individual needs, leaving many users without real, sustainable progress. We identified a significant gap in truly personalized, actionable plans for individual health optimization and habit formation. This challenge inspired the creation of BioSync AI, a platform designed to cut through the noise and provide tailored, intelligent guidance.
What it does
BioSync AI is your personalized health optimization platform. It offers a seamless and engaging experience, starting with secure user authentication for easy signup and login. Users can set personalized health goals through their profile, which then drives our core functionality: daily health logging (for aspects like sleep, nutrition, and mood).
The heart of BioSync AI lies in its AI-driven personalized daily recommendations, which provide actionable advice unique to each user's profile and goals. Crucially, BioSync AI features AI-generated personalized meal plans or workout routines. This innovative feature allows users to generate specific, actionable plans with a single click, providing tangible value and a clear roadmap for their health journey.
To keep users motivated and engaged, BioSync AI incorporates robust gamification elements, including points, streaks, and a leveling system, encouraging consistent habit formation and celebrating progress.
How we built it
BioSync AI was rapidly developed leveraging cutting-edge tools and technologies. The entire application was built with incredible speed and efficiency using Bolt.new, an AI-assisted development platform. Bolt.new played a pivotal role in constructing the modern, responsive React.js frontend and seamlessly integrating the underlying AI logic that powers our personalized recommendations and content generation.
For robust backend functionality, we utilized Supabase for secure user authentication and scalable database management. The application's clean and responsive user interface was crafted with React.js and JavaScript, employing modern styling principles. The project is deployed via Netlify, ensuring easy accessibility.
Challenges we ran into
Developing BioSync AI within the hackathon's time constraints presented several challenges:
Initial Development Environment Setup: We encountered common npm run dev "Command failed" errors, which required careful troubleshooting to ensure the development server ran smoothly. Initial Data Initialization: A significant bug involved new user accounts incorrectly displaying pre-filled gamification data (e.g., "Level 4," "7 days Streak," "1,250 points earned"). The challenge was to implement logic to correctly initialize these values to zero or starting states (e.g., Level 1 Biohacker) for new users. UI/UX Consistency and Responsiveness: Ensuring that all gamified elements and progress indicators (like the "X/Y completed" bar) displayed correctly and within their containers across various screen sizes was a continuous task, as exemplified by the progress bar overflow issue. Implementing "Forgot Password" Flow: Setting up a fully functional password recovery system with Supabase required careful configuration of redirect URLs and building a dedicated password reset page from scratch, as the page was initially blank.

This is just the beginning for BioSync AI. Next, we're focusing on full API integrations with all major health devices, advanced predictive AI coaching, and exploring computer vision for effortless data logging. Our goal is to expand into corporate wellness and become a leading player in preventative healthcare.
