Inspiration

It is an intelligent and lightweight instrument (designed as an open-source platform and a built-in home check kit with biosensors developed by students) that acts as an “early and continuous early warning system for vital signs and biodeviation”.

The idea is to link low-cost biological sensors (such as saliva analysis or skin sweat across simple microfluidic chips) to an AI-based smartphone application. The application analyzes vital signs to detect symptoms of chronic diseases (such as diabetes, liver and kidney disease) or the onset of viral infections before the appearance of obvious clinical symptoms.

What it does

Main project interloctor:

  1. Early and Smarter Diagnosis (Smarter & Earlier):

Using a simple replaceable biofoliar chip, measures specific bioproteins in saliva or skin wiping.

Artificial intelligence algorithms analyze the result via the phone camera to determine the signs of early illness and alert the user or doctor immediately.

  1. Accessible & Global:

Cost: Slide and reader model design using lightweight 3D printing and renewable materials to ensure the cost does not exceed a few dollars.

Working without a permanent Internet connection: The AI software model can run locally on mobile devices in remote or resource-limited areas.

  1. Global Student and University Effort (Built by Students worldwide):

The platform is based on the Open-Hardware & Open-Code model, allowing students from different universities to develop new sensor algorithms for other bioproteins and constantly update the system. ً

Challenges we ran into

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Enabling the individual to follow their vital health accurately on a daily or weekly basis, and shifting health care from “post-treatment of illness” to “very early prevention and intervention” at the lowest possible cost.
