Inspiration
We saw the process of how water is treated in NEWater and based our idea off that.
What it does
The product itself collects water from rivers and rain and stores it in a tank. The water tank will send the water into the natural water filter which filters out the sediment and feeds it to a solar-powered UV filter which disinfects the water for human consumption. Lastly, this clean filtered water will be stored into a separate water tank which can be dispensed for each person with their own individual ID.
How we built it
We used cheap materials such as plastic. For the electronics, we used simple components hooked up to an ESP32 . The website was coded in html and we used VSC to edit the codes.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into issues such as the code logic not producing the output that we have expecting. Alongside technical issues such as conversion errors for the parts of our prototype, causing setbacks. On top of that, we had an uneven workload distribution as we assigned tasks based on the skills that each member has while managing hardware issues such as our servo motor not working halfway throughout our hacking.
What we learned
We learned to keep being resilient in the face of setbacks such our servo motor and did solve the issue and further implemented functions that utilised the servo motor. We did also split the workload and shift focus onto the more important parts of the hacking project to save time.
What's next for Pure pHlow
If possible, we will try to make the actual infrastructure of our prototype more professional since right now it is in the prototype stage, it is not really clear as to how it functions without explanation.
