Inspiration

What inspired us is the difficulties people are facing in our community in Nigeria through the lack of electricity supply and climatic changes that arise through the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere through the burning of landfills and using of petrol and diesel engine as a source of electricity. That is how we came up with an alternative that will reduce the emission of greenhouse gas and provide green and enough energy to the community for usage. The alternate source is Biogas Energy.

What it does

Biogas Energy is the energy derived from the conversion of organic waste through the process of anaerobic digestion.

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

There was little database to work within the Nigerian industry when it comes to Biogas. Mostly, what we discovered were private entrepreneurs producing for their consumption and a few markets in their community.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We solved some of Nigeria's biggest problems and those are poor electricity supply and environmental pollution. We also solved 4 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals through our project.

What we learned

We learned a lot about how Biogas is been produced and how it's being converted to electricity and cooking gas as the main product and the slurry to fertilizer for farmers.

What's next for Biogas Energy

The next for Biogas Energy is to implement and install it in our community for people to benefit from it.
