Inspiration
Wild felids face threats that vary greatly between species, but conservation information is often fragmented and difficult to compare. We wanted to use AI to make this information more accessible and useful for conservation.
What it does
BioFelid-AI analyzes information on 48 felid species, generating species profiles, comparing threats, and identifying conservation knowledge gaps.
How we built it
We combined biodiversity data, species information, and AI-powered analysis into an interactive platform designed to explore and compare felid conservation data.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was organizing diverse information from different species and sources into a consistent structure while making the AI outputs useful rather than just descriptive.
Accomplishments that we’re proud of
We created a functional concept that brings 48 felid species into one AI-powered conservation platform and turns scattered information into comparable insights.
What we learned
We learned that AI can be especially useful in conservation when it doesn’t replace scientific data, but helps researchers connect, organize, and interpret it.
What’s next for BioFelid-AI
We want to expand the dataset, integrate more scientific and geographic sources, improve the knowledge-gap detection system, and eventually support real-world conservation research and decision-making.
