Harvard specimen library combined with mapping and geological reports
What it does
Our platform provides a comprehensive tool for analyzing biodiversity and its ecological impact. Users can input data such as latitude or species ID to retrieve detailed information on the biodiversity in that region. We aim to raise awareness and support sustainable development through accessible, data-driven insights.
How we built it
In the front end, we built a search engine and maps that visualize the results. In the back end, we connect with multiple APIs to revise our database and algorithm.
Challenges we ran into
the connection between the front end and the back end; finding and connecting API.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We finished a complete platform that could handle millions of pieces of data.
What we learned
Front side and back side connection, as well as front side languages like JS and react.
What's next for Biodiversity search engine
better visualization and aesthetic design.
