BinWars

BinWars is a Unity mobile application that helps the average busy user remember to put their bins out, preventing overflowing and bad recycling practises.

Inspiration

Bin day is too complicated and too easy to forget!

What it does

BinWars uses your postcode to access local council data, providing a colour-coded calendar, progressively more annoying notifications and a check-in to ensure you put your bins out correctly! We have extra features to create a one-stop shop for all things recycling.

How we built it

We used Unity to create the mobile application and Figma for our prototyping

Challenges we ran into

Initial set up was more difficult than we anticipated and we ran into many git issues due to Unity binary files, but we got there in the end.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our bin day countdown and fun bin facts work from actual data! Our UI is consistent and the flow is easy and intuitive. The application has many more features actually implemented than we anticipated we would have time for
