Inspiration

Shortage of foster families. Not sure where to target recruiting.

What it does

Shows families, children and DCFS offices by geography to help target recruiting for resource families.## ##How I built it We used LA County open data, google maps visualization API, and javascript.

Challenges I ran into

Some families are located out of county and would want to clean data/clarify with DCFS team given time.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Using available resources of LA open data to help the county make better decisions.

What I learned

Children and families are not in same geographic areas so there is opportunity to increase recruiting efforts in certain areas

What's next for Binti Presentation

Continue to use technology to find ways to partner with DCFS to improve outcomes for foster children.
