Waste sorting in public spaces often fails because it relies on users making quick decisions with limited guidance. In mall food courts, unclear labels and mixed waste frequently lead to recycling contamination and rejected waste streams. We wanted to remove this decision-making burden entirely. Binlytic AI enables a simple “point, drop, and done” experience, where the bin identifies waste and determines the correct disposal method. When visual recognition is uncertain, a voice assistant provides guidance, acting like a helpful person beside the bin. This makes waste disposal faster, more accurate, and accessible for everyone.
