Inspiration

The idea for Medico Mentor was inspired by the everyday challenges faced by elderly people, especially those who live alone or depend on others for their healthcare needs. Forgetting medicines, missing appointments, or not knowing whom to contact during an emergency can create unnecessary stress.

We wanted to create a simple, senior-friendly digital companion that could make healthcare management easier and help elderly people feel more confident and independent.

What it does

Medico Mentor is a smart mobile app that helps elderly people manage their daily healthcare. It provides medicine reminders, appointment alerts, basic health tracking, emergency assistance, and caregiver connectivity through a simple, senior-friendly interface.

How we built it

We built Medico Mentor as a simple, user-friendly mobile app prototype focused on elderly care. We designed the interface with large buttons, clear icons, simple navigation, and easy-to-read information. We structured the app around key features such as medicine reminders, appointment alerts, health tracking, emergency support, and caregiver connectivity.

Challenges we ran into

Our main challenge was making the app simple enough for elderly users while still providing useful features. We also had to think carefully about accessibility, emergency support, and avoiding unnecessary complexity. Balancing functionality, simplicity, and user safety helped us improve the overall design.

What's next for MEDICO MENTOR

Our next step is to turn the prototype into a fully functional mobile app. We plan to add AI-powered health assistance, smart medication reminders, fall detection, emergency alerts, wearable-device integration, and real-time caregiver notifications. We also want to test the app with elderly users and improve it based on their feedback, making Medico Mentor more accessible, reliable, and personalized.
