Inspiration

Our inspiration is to encourage people to recycle more for a better greener earth!

What it does

Bin Fiesta allows users to take a picture of trash, and the app instantly gives them a list of items they can recycle from the photo. It also provides helpful information on local recycling centers, making it easier for users to find out where they can drop off their recyclable materials.

How we built it

We used Next.js for the frontend and Firebase for the backend

Challenges we ran into

Integrating multiple APIs, like the Gemini AI API, OpenAI API, and Google Maps Platform API, was tricky. We also had to resolve several merge conflicts during development due to multiple team members working on different features at the same time. We were also challenged by balancing app performance and keeping it user-friendly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully integrating multiple APIs to create a seamless user experience. Getting a total of 32 users on our waitlist within 12 hrs! 🌟
