Inspiration## Inspiration

Living in a hostel in Islamabad, we always argue about mess bills. Who paid what? How much per person? I wanted a simple tool for Pakistani students to split bills fairly without complex apps. This is Project #1 from my studio Codistan.

What it does

BillSplitPK takes total bill amount and number of friends, and instantly tells you how much each person should pay. No login, no data saved, works on phone in 5 seconds.

How I built it - Learning with Skills

This project was built using the Learn AI Basics Skill Pack as required:

1. Ran npx skills add challengepost/learn-ai-basics --all -y in an empty folder
2. Used run 1-start skill - it interviewed me and generated my planning docs
3. My repo includes scope.md, prd.md, spec.md as required - I learned to PLAN before CODE
4. Built the app with AI coding agent in GitHub Codespace (entirely on phone from Islamabad)
5. Pushed to GitHub public repo

Challenges I faced

Building entirely on phone was hard - small screen, Codespace terminal. But I learned GitHub Codespaces gives a full dev environment in browser. Also learned writing PRD first saves hours of coding.

What I learned

I learned the core habit: scope.md -> prd.md -> spec.md -> code. This is how professional teams build with AI, not just prompting.

What's next

Add Easypaisa/JazzCash split links, history for monthly mess, and Urdu language support for Codistan portfolio.

Challenges we ran into Biggest challenge was building 100% on phone - no laptop. Codespace on mobile Chrome is slow. Also learning to plan with scope.md, prd.md, spec.md before coding was new, but it made my project professional. This is Project #1 for my studio Codistan, so I wanted it perfect.

Accomplishments that we're proud of Proud that I completed my first international hackathon submission entirely on phone from Islamabad hostel, with no laptop.

Built BillSplitPK that actually solves a real problem for Pakistani students - splitting mess bills fairly in 5 seconds.

Completed all Learn Skill Pack requirements properly: scope.md, prd.md, spec.md in GitHub repo, public code, demo video. Learned professional workflow - PLAN before CODE - which I will use for all Codistan client projects.

This is Project #1 from my studio Codistan, and it's live on GitHub Pages for anyone to use.

What we learned. NLearned to plan before code using Learn Skill Pack. scope prd -> spec workflow saves hours. Also learned I can build full projects from phone using Codespaces. This will be my method for all Codistan projects now.

What's next for BillSplitPK Make it full product: Easypaisa/JazzCash integration, monthly history, Urdu support, and PWA install. First of 10 tools from Codistan for Pakistani students.
