BillSplitPK

Inspiration

Living in hostel in Islamabad, we always fight over mess bills. I wanted a simple tool for Pakistani students. This is Project #1 from my studio Codistan.

What it does

BillSplitPK takes total bill and number of friends, instantly shows per-person share. No login, no signup, works on phone in 5 seconds.

How we built it

As required by challenge, built with Learn Skill Pack:

• npx skills add challengepost/learn-ai-basics --all -y in empty repo
• Ran run 1-start skill, it generated scope.md, prd.md, spec.md (check my GitHub)
• Built app in GitHub Codespace entirely on phone
• This taught me to PLAN before CODE

Challenges we ran into

Building on phone only with small screen. Codespace terminal was laggy. But learned how to use GitHub Codespace as full computer in Chrome.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Completed all requirements: planning docs in repo, public GitHub, demo video. First international hackathon submission from phone from Pakistan.

What we learned

The skill pack habit: scope -> PRD -> spec -> code. This is how pro developers build with AI. Will use this for all Codistan client projects now.

What's next for BillSplitPK

Add Easypaisa/JazzCash link, monthly history, and Urdu support. Make it full Codistan product.

How we built itBuilt 100% on phone in Islamabad - no laptop used.

Added 3 required docs: scope.md, prd.md, spec.md as per hackathon rules.

Code: Single HTML file with HTML5, CSS3, Vanilla JavaScript. Logic is perPerson = total / friends.

Learned via Devpost Learn Skill Pack - challengepost/learn-ai-basics skill. Followed skill workflow to structure project.

Tested on phone browser, deployed via GitHub Pages.

Team: Codistan Studio - First project, building for Pakistan from Pakistan.

Challenges we ran intoBuilt 100% on phone. GitHub mobile file creation was hard. Small screen typing. Slow internet in Islamabad. But we completed it - proves you can build tech from Pakistan with just a phone.

What's next for BillSplitPKAdd Easypaisa/JazzCash payments, Urdu support, unequal split, bill history, PWA install. Launch on Play Store as Codistan Studio app. Make it Pakistan's #1 student bill app.
