What it does BillSplit PK lets you add friends/roommates, add shared expenses in PKR, and instantly calculates who owes whom. Shows clear settlement - no math needed. Built for hostel students & trip groups.
How we built it Built with HTML, CSS, JavaScript on CodePen. 100% frontend, no backend needed.
Challenges we ran into Member dropdown not linking, full page vs editor view bug on CodePen, settlement math for 3+ people, and making it work without database or login.
Accomplishments that we're proud ofBuilt a working PKR-based expense splitter for Pakistani hostel students in 1 day. No signup, no backend, mobile-friendly and live.
What we learnedLearned DOM manipulation, state handling without frameworks, and building for local problems beats copying foreign apps like Splitwise.
What's next for BillSplitPKAdd JazzCash/EasyPaisa payment links, save history, create multiple groups, Urdu language, and PWA for offline hostel use.
