Inspiration

My inspiration for this solution came from Hurricane Maria, when I saw the need of having a more efficient fund management system that provides more transparency in fund allocation.

What it does

It is a system where any entity (community leader, mayoral office, or government agency) can request funding to aid in proposal writing for BIL grant applications. The funding comes from public donations, and the BIL-WALLET is built with democracy in mind, meaning that you can only send funds if the proposal was approved by four out of seven council members.

How we built it

The website documentation was created using HTML, CSS, FIGMA, and ANIMA. I used Gnosis Safe to build the multi-signature wallet and Snapshot.org to build the voting platform for proposal grant request.

Challenges we ran into

I had to use HTML and CSS to build the website documentation because my react code was giving me problems.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that I build a fully functioning minimum viable product in 3 weeks.

What we learned

I learned so much about how DAO's work and Web3 Technologies

What's next for BIL-WALLET

Integrating snapshot APIs, Gnosis Safe APIs, and documentation into a single platform, allowing all operations to be completed in a single platform. Establishing the BIL-WALLET as a non-profit organization, such as a 501(c)(3), also could allow it to obtain more funding for proposal writing support. Another step, if given the opportunity, will be to find proposal writers to operate under the BIL-WALLET council.
