The constant process of urbanization in developing countries is causing a rapid growth of the suburbs and an increased use of automated vehicles. Bike culture is getting lost and we believe that there is a great potential in this area.

The problem that we encountered in our university is the constraints of only being able to use the bikes inside the main campus. With the project of Distrito Tec, having a campus that's becoming part of the community more and more is creating needs. Being able to take a bicycle to travel to different parts of Distrito is as much as a need as a blessing. Yet there must be a control of these bikes, for a reason of security.

We designed a web app and developed a demo that lets users "rent" the bikes for free. Our app shows the bicycle docks in the area of Distrito Tec, how many bikes each dock has, and helps you rent a bicycle for half an hour. Then the user needs to return the bike to a dock near their destination. We believe that our bike-sharing system has a lot of potential for Distrito Tec and for Monterrey in the long run.

We designed a system involving different technologies of software and hardware to develop what we hope would be a solution implemented in a few years.
