Inspiration Small rooftop solar owners need a clear way to document their generation and explain their environmental impact. BijliProof makes readings, assumptions and supporting evidence easier to review.

What it does BijliProof imports daily solar readings, flags duplicates and unusual values, and estimates avoided emissions using an explicit user-selected grid factor.

It creates SHA-256 evidence receipts linked to previous receipts. Users can export their workspace, verify downloaded receipts and optionally anchor a receipt hash on Ethereum Sepolia through a browser wallet.

The Global Weather feature provides 249 country/territory choices, worldwide location search, local time zones, current model conditions, seven-day forecasts and historical hourly weather. A solar reference helps users compare weather-based potential with recorded generation.

How we built it The application uses JavaScript, HTML, CSS, browser localStorage and the Web Crypto API. Open-Meteo provides weather data and location search. Python supplies a simple local server. AI coding assistance supported development.

Challenges Weather estimates and self-reported readings are not authenticated meter evidence. We keep these sources separate and clearly label synthetic data, assumptions and missing values.

Accomplishments The prototype includes working data-review and receipt workflows, global weather exploration and downloadable evidence. Thirty automated checks pass. Live forecast, historical-weather and location-search API responses were successfully retrieved and validated.

Limitations Browser click-through testing remains incomplete. The optional Sepolia transaction has not been executed during validation. Anomaly detection uses statistical checks rather than a trained machine-learning model. Emissions estimates are illustrative and do not constitute certified carbon credits.

What's next Authenticated meter integration, independent review, sourced regional emissions factors and calibrated weather-aware machine learning.
