Inspiration

Our inspiration stemmed from the desire to streamline volunteer management processes for organizations like Big at Heart. We wanted to create a solution that would simplify administrative tasks and enhance volunteer engagement.

What it does

The Big at Heart Integrated Web App consists of two user-friendly web applications powered by Google App Script and Google Sheets. The admin portal enables administrators to access detailed volunteer information, create events, workshops, generate reports, and track attendance. The volunteer portal empowers volunteers to reserve event spots, interact through blogs, create reflection posts, and generate certificates.

How we built it

We built the web applications using Google App Script for rapid development and seamless integration with Google Sheets as the database. The development process involved extensive collaboration, coding, and testing to ensure user-friendliness and functionality.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we faced was designing a system that catered to the diverse needs of both administrators and volunteers while maintaining simplicity and efficiency. Additionally, integrating various features within the Google ecosystem posed technical challenges that required careful navigation.

What we learned
