Inspiration
The main inspiration came from my teammates and mentors, who always encouraged me to keep trying new things. One of my teammates recently started his own startup, which motivated me to explore AI more seriously. I also believed this hackathon would help me gain new ideas and experience. That's how I came up with BidOps AI, which analyzes tenders and helps companies decide whether they should apply or not.
What it does
BidOps AI takes company details and tender documents, then uses AI to compare both and recommend whether the company should apply for the tender or not. However, the final decision always stays with the business.
How we built it
We built BidOps AI using OpenAI GPT-5.6 for document analysis and decision support. The application combines a web frontend, backend APIs, and AI workflows to analyze tenders and generate recommendations.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was making the AI provide consistent and reliable recommendations while handling large tender documents. We also spent a lot of time fixing bugs, improving prompts, and connecting all the components into a working product.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud that in just five days of this challenge, I developed a working SaaS prototype that solves a real-world problem.
What we learned
I learned how to properly use AI, what SaaS is, and how to build one. I also learned how to deploy frontend and backend applications, use Swagger to test APIs, and fix bugs when the APIs ran into errors.
What's next for BidOps AI
I am looking for someone to fund this idea so I can continue developing it. Building and testing the prototype required spending money on API usage and tokens, and I would like to keep improving the product.
