Inspiration

Construction projects often lose critical information between tender documents, planning, site execution, quality controls, and handover. Bid2Build AI was created from real construction-site experience to keep one continuous project memory from bid to build.

What it does

Bid2Build AI turns tender documents into a structured construction workflow. It identifies technical requirements, missing information, contradictions, risks, environmental opportunities, and tender coverage.

Once a contract is awarded, the same analysis becomes an execution plan with phases, materials, quality checks, site decisions, traceability, and handover documentation.

The prototype includes two anonymized construction scenarios: a locker-room renovation in progress and a shower-to-WC conversion in planning.

How we built it

The product was designed from real BTP workflows and built collaboratively with Codex and GPT-5.6. Codex generated and refined the React and TypeScript application, navigation, project state, multilingual interface, tender analysis workflow, award transition, execution planning, notifications, and local persistence.

The application currently runs as a functional local prototype. Demo mode provides a complete anonymized workflow without requiring an API key. A Live AI connection is prepared for future OpenAI API integration.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was translating complex construction processes into an interface that remains simple for site teams. We also had to preserve continuity between tender analysis and execution instead of creating separate disconnected tools.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Functional tender-to-execution workflow
  • Risk, contradiction, and missing-document detection
  • Tender coverage analysis
  • Contract award transition
  • Project-specific execution plans
  • Materials, controls, and handover checklists
  • French, English, and Romanian interface
  • Persistent local project state
  • Real construction use cases represented with anonymized data

What we learned

The most valuable AI workflow is not a single document generator. It is a shared project memory that follows the same construction project from the first tender document to final proof of execution.

What's next for Bid2Build AI

The next version will add live OpenAI API analysis, secure document storage, user access controls, site-photo traceability, supplier and cost management, automated technical reports, and DOE generation for professional construction teams.
