biblo

When creating biblo, we were inspired by our past experiences with reading as kids, and how isolated we felt because there wasn't a way to connect with people who had similar interests. We were also influenced by the increase in reading over quarantine due to the lockdowns and isolation. We hope this app can encourage people to spend time away from devices and towards educating themselves through books. Our app's main purpose is to act as a social media for book lovers. We built biblo using Xcode. We also used Firebase to keep information about the users profile and their likes. Since our project itself was a complex idea, we had some difficult code to write. Common issues are always with errors, especially in large projects where errors can be hard to source. We also only had one device capable of running Xcode so that was a proven problem. We are so proud of the joint effort, and how we all worked and helped each other out. We learned many new things about how to create the intricate details of a social media app, such as follower count, blog posting option and commenting. We plan on continuing to revise and edit the app as we think of more features to add in the future.
